Overview & Scope
Developed the MI Room OPD Management Application (MIROPD), a custom Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system tailored for Armed Forces Medical Inspection Rooms, replacing slow and error-prone paper registers.
Operational Outpatient Workflow
In high-throughput military outpatient clinics, maintaining patient history, ensuring handwriting readability, and tracking drug inventories are constant challenges. MIROPD integrates these administrative workflows into an offline-first Microsoft Access and VBA application:
- Vitals & Clinical Logging: Medical assistants can register patients, record basic health vitals (Temperature, Blood Pressure, and SPO2), and track follow-up visits.
- Prescription Printing & Replication: Standardized prescriptions print directly on cost-effective half-A4 or legal pages. For patients with chronic conditions, the system allows data entry clerks to replicate past prescriptions, modifying values to save time.
- Pharmacy Stock & Indent Controls: The system tracks drug levels against a Minimum Maintenance Figure (MMF), flags approaching expiries, and warns clerks to prevent prescribing expired medication.
- Administrative reporting: Generates monthly statistics (OPD count summaries, upcoming annual medical check lists) while protecting data through local password security and secure data backups.

- Outpatient Registration with a one-time demographic record and search utility to prevent duplicate entries.
- Prescription Replication allowing medical operators to copy and adjust previous prescriptions for chronic visits.
- Structured Vitals Logging to record temperature, blood pressure (BP), and blood oxygen saturation (SPO2).
- Drug Stock & Expiry Controls tracking stock limits (MMF) and blocks prescribing expired medications.
- Auto-Generated Monthly Drug Indents calculating quantities based on consumption rates and current inventory.
- Standardized Prescription Printing formatted for clean delivery on half-sized A4 or legal page configurations.
